Hello Friends!
In the hospitality year, there are predictable moments when things happen – like late autumn, when restaurateurs push to open new venues before the festive rush. Boy, oh boy – have they been busy (and I’ve heard on the grapevine there’s more to come!). |
At Brighton Summit, we had the pleasure of chatting with restaurateur and local sustainability pioneer Diana Palmer at Redroaster, while enjoying a matcha masterclass from Brighton’s Bird & Blend Tea Co. Diana’s new London venture – Khaobird – opened yesterday on Soho’s Brewer Street. Wishing Diana and the team all the very best. |
Today Happy Maki is reopening at its new home, 49 Gardner Street, having been acquired by the good people behind Purezza. To celebrate, Happy Maki is giving away 49 free sushi rolls on opening day. To claim yours, simply say “Maki me happy” in-store. First-come, first-served, so get down there now! |

More Happy News: A UK First! |
On 19 November, Brighton-based charity Team Domenica will open The North Star, designed to prepare young people with learning disabilities and autism for employment. A UK first, the pub will offer guests a warm welcome, stylish decor, exceptional food and drink, as well as “a beacon of light and hope for the 1.3 million people with learning disabilities in the UK,” says founder Rosa Moncton MBE. |
