Hello Friends,
By Restaurants Brighton decree, today is a good news only day. Just don't open the papers. We've got this. |
MAN SWEEPS PATH WITHOUT BEING ASKED |
Local hod carrier Lee Bashford recently cleared around 30 tonnes of rubble from the undercliff path between Brighton Marina and Saltdean by hand. What a hero. Now you can walk or cycle the seafront towards The White Horses, The Plough Inn or Wild Flour Pizza without stumbling about like a drunken sailor. You might even make it all the way to Rottingdean's award-winning beach. |

SUSSEX SOMM SAM SMASHES IT |
Sam Weatherill, award-winning sommelier, wine writer, wine host and Wine Director at Hove's stunning etch. restaurant has been named Best Performer in Food & Wine Matching at the UK Sommelier Awards. He also ranked 17th in this year's Sommelier Edit Top 100. Nice one, Sam. |
KITCHEN DREAMS - ONE NIGHT ONLY |
A limited number of exclusive tickets remain for the latest Prept Collab at Gravetye Manor. Chef Martin Carabott welcomes Josh Angus, Chef Director of Hide, HideAway and The White Horse, for an unforgettable evening featuring a Rathfinny reception, Penfolds pairings and six exceptional courses. Better still, every penny of profit goes to the Prept Foundation. |

BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH REFUSES TO COVER UP |
The annual Naked Bike Ride may have been postponed until 12 September, but Brighton brunch clearly didn't get the memo. Lost in the Lanes is pouring free-flowing bellinis and mimosas alongside its gorgeous seasonal menu. The Metropole Bar is serving Bottega bottomless on the terrace, while Baked brings its cheeky prosecco brunch to Hove. |

It's the big hill, we're willing to die on. From the award-winning roast and awesome team at The Tiny Kitchen (The Howard) to the excellent cocktails at new Outgrown Bar, Elm Grove is definitely one of Brighton's tastiest neighbourhoods. MEGA TEACHER TREASURE HUNT |
Restaurants Brighton is giving away a massive £150 Gift Voucher to one deserving Brighton, Hove or Sussex school hero. Whether it's the teacher who transformed your child's year, the teaching assistant who brings endless energy, or the headteacher somehow keeping everything together with a smile, now's your chance to say thank you. |

 | Emma demolished a mouthwatering aubergine shawarma GLO Bowl with an unforgettable cherry iced coffee (who knew those flavours worked?) at Kernel Canteen.
I headed to another brilliant hospitality event from the Best Before crew, with a panel that included Brighton's own Liam from Voya watched by representatives from many of the city's finest venues, all generously sharing their experiences of the current hospitality landscape.
Once the serious business was done, we escaped to the rooftop bar at Projects on Nile Street for iced Sipello Palomas and Barbino snacks. Had to be done.
I'll be taking some time off over the summer to hang out with the kids, so other members of the team will be taking over the newsletter reins. Thanks for reading, supporting local restaurants and do have a fabulous summer.
Yours, over and out,
Hannah & Team RB
