Pride, graduation, summer celebrations... and something I definitely wasn't ready for.

“Wait, what? Christmas parties? You've got to be kidding me.” That was my internal dialogue last week when I heard the team at one of my favourite local restaurants busily booking theirs.
On reflection, it totally makes sense. Hospitality teams will be busy looking after the rest of us during the festive season, so they need to get in first, especially if they've got somewhere special in mind. So, if they're booking theirs now, then soon, it might actually be time for you to book yours. Just saying… |
 | How far you're prepared to look ahead is pretty personal. But planner or not, it's less than a month until Europe's most fabulous Pride celebration hits the city and, if you want that perfect parade viewing spot, you'll need to book now. The Salt Room terrace opened Pride bookings this week, and you'll also want to check out Dishoom Permit Room, Shelter Hall and OhSo.

I crossed a big one off my bucket list last Sunday when I finally had the chance to try the BRAVOS Best Roast at Embers. Did they deserve the win? Absolutely. Here's my write-up.
Speaking of maps, I came across a fascinating one this week. Made by chef Sally Abe and Topjaw producer Kyla Lawrie, it marks female-owned restaurants across the country. Take a look – it's brilliant and they want to hear from you if they've missed anyone out.
Another map worth poring over is the UNESCO Biosphere. Brighton and Hove is right in the centre of the only urban biosphere in the UK, which makes us rather special. Jude and Ivanka interviewed UNESCO’s Sarah Dobson about local fish stocks and you'll find their short film and blog post here.
Another big sporting weekend ahead. Two Wimbledon finals, then we're in it to win it. Book a great table for dinner before the match on Saturday night (etch. is opening early), then settle in for another late one at your favourite big screen.
