Head into town this week and you’ll find Brighton gearing up!
Hello Friends!
Head into town this week and you’ll find Brighton gearing up! You may not be quite ready for the festive season (John Lewis ad notwithstanding), but the behind-the-scenes crew is already in full swing. |
Lighting up the seafront on 13 November with a little help from our Mayor – Shelter Hall just can’t wait! Expect delicious food and drinks, free hot chocolate, children’s crafts, and a dash of panto fun from the cast of Jack and the Beanstalk. Book here.
Plus it’s the perfect excuse to check out their new resident kitchen – introducing ThaiAngle.

Sadly, there’s no Burning the Clocks in 2025, but look out for a preview of 2026’s theme, Magicada, with a sculpture by artist Nikki Gunson in Brighton on 21 Dec 2025. |
A new food concept from the award-winning Cin Cin’s David and Jamie has landed at one of Brighton’s favourite pubs – The Windmill. Think bar snacks, sandwiches, pies and mac & cheese with a Mediterranean twist. Sundays bring a modern roast with Sussex ingredients and Cin Cin flair. |
Above and beyond, Head Chef Jes James at Lost in the Lanes – winner of BRAVOS Best Team 2025 – is raising money for The Burnt Chef Project (donate here) with daily videos throughout Men’s Health Month. It’s not always easy to talk about, but it’s just so important. |

Out & About
Beautiful, busy Brittany took two for the team – brunch at Vios in The Lanes (watch here), then dinner at Apiary to try the new chef’s dishes (watch here).
Amit braved a miserable commute to The Roundhill and was completely revived by the fabulous menu – highlight: Aubergine Katsu (read all about it).
Our anniversary date? The ‘lovers’ nook’ at Poco in Alfriston. Handmade agnolotti ai funghi, South Downs venison and Mangalitsa pork meatballs in sugo, with perfect wine pairings. This week, there’s unusual Friday availability (the Lewes crowd still recovering from Bonfire!) – so go ahead and book.
Congratulations to Abi Knight, the lucky winner of our monthly £50 Restaurants Brighton Voucher.
Yours, with a little twinkle in our eyes,
Hannah & Team RB
