English Wine Week, Father's Day, Brighton Oyster Festival and more.
Hello Friends!
A quick admission: I'm a lifelong radio addict. The joy is in stumbling across something genuinely inspiring. Recently it was Andy Cato of Groove Armada on BBC’s Radical podcast, talking about selling his music catalogue to buy a regenerative farm. Unsurprisingly, it's been quite a journey, but his message was simple: healthy soil grows great food.
Closer to home, a huge amount of work has gone into reviving the kelp forests along our shoreline. The result? Waters teeming with life. Open this week is Secrets Beneath The Sea from Sussex Wildlife Trust, an exhibition celebrating the remarkable marine ecosystem just off our coast. |
There are so many local people are doing brilliant things to improve biodiversity, grow, fish and harvest more sustainably. I’m off to Knepp soon to see best practice in action. Also, check out the Summer Market at Trenchmore on 27 June. |
We're so excited to be hosting our next sustainability workshop, 'Shaping a Sustainable Food City' at Sea Lanes. We'll be hearing from the University of Brighton, Nostos, Palmito, Sea Lanes, as well as learning much more about the circular economy from SOENECS. Reply to this newsletter to find out more. |
Looking after the planet matters. Looking after each other matters too. Our Hospitality Hub is packed with special offers and events created just for people who work in the local hospitality scene. If that’s you, keep an eye out for new additions or forward it to a friend who should know. |

From simple pleasures to full-blown outings, here's our fabulous Father's Day round-up to help you plan their special day. Still stuck? A Restaurants Brighton Gift Voucher is a super handy last-minute save. |

This week is going to be a busy one. If you wanted to, you could spend every evening hopping between unmissable one-off menus and tastings. That’s our plan! Welcome to the very first Brighton Oyster Festival. Add English Wine Week and the diary is bursting at the seams. |
Last week, Emma enjoyed a gorgeous evening at BRAVO award-winning Poco, learning to make fresh pasta. Patron Jamie hosted the evening and was hand-pouring bubbles as only he knows how. Poco also received a fabulous write-up from critic William Sitwell.
Meanwhile, I braved BBQ Sunday lunch with the kids at Stem. I knew the food would be gorgeous, but you never quite know about the children. Nothing to worry about in the end. BBQ Sundays at Stem are very likely to become a family fixture. |
