Gentle resets, exciting plans and the odd treat too – plus January offers, foodie things to do, spas and saunas, Veganuary picks, mini-break ideas, and a WIN.
Hello Friends!
In his latest feature for Restaurants Brighton, Steffan describes two January tribes: his “tribe keeps the bottle trade alive until the daffodils rise, and the toxin dodgers tire of the gym.” We admire both – but we’re choosing a middle way: gentle resets and the odd treat too. |
Hibernating is not the only answer |
Our offers page is groaning with ways to make your pennies go further this January, plus ongoing savers we love – like a £10 lunch at Lost in the Lanes or the £15 plat du jour at Wild Flor. We’re not shy of a duvet day but popping out for a deliciously good-value meal will make you happy and support hospitality at this tricky time of year. |
Stop beating yourself up and do what makes you feel good! That could be a long walk with a friend, a sauna on the beach, or a spa day (if you’re lucky). Skipping the booze this month? Order a bright green matcha, a cup of organic coffee, or a sparkling mocktail instead. |
January is the top month for holiday bookings (we really can’t think why?) Woodfire Camping summer 2026 bookings opened this week and popular dates are filling up fast. But first, a cosy local mini-break (with an excellent dinner) could be just the ticket for lifting those spirits. |

Back to work for Team RB means catching up with each other – and what’s new. We’re really excited about what’s coming, so stay tuned.
Tonight (8 January), Jude and I are off to the Rockwater Supper Club with their chef director James Golding and former MasterChef winner Dhruv Baker cooking together. We know we’re in for a real treat. More on this later.
One little piece of advice: ring your favourite spots before you go this January, as some are closed for a well-deserved post-festive break.
Yours, filled with the joys of January,
Hannah and Team RB
