Local wine estate Nyetimber has been named the UK’s best drinks producer at the BBC’s prestigious Food and Farming Awards 2025. Truly world-class, Nyetimber’s Blanc de Blancs 2016 also won this year’s Champion Sparkling Wine at the International Wine Challenge – the first wine from outside Champagne ever to do so – while head winemaker Cherie Spriggs was named Sparkling Winemaker of the Year for the second year running.

Nyetimber is the house sparkling at Steven Edwards’ outstanding Hove restaurant etch. (Harden’s Top 100 UK Restaurants), where opening hours have recently been extended to meet demand. Multi award-winning sommelier Sam Weatherill will be on hand with fabulous pairings for mouthwatering dishes like the fresh Newhaven monkfish with BBQ leek and caviar beurre blanc on the Autumn/Winter menu now.

RB Diary

We’re feeling pretty festive over at RB Towers. Jude and I went to a smashing party at boutique hotel No. 124, where the decorations are up and everything is just so: fab food from Pearly Cow, free flowing fizz, a DJ, tombola and caricaturist.

Our photo-fam has been busy snapping away this week. Ellen shot the fantastically popular Poco sharing roast, while Emma’s been preparing our amazing Festive Hamper campaign. Where would we be without their beautiful, creative images? Nowhere, that’s where. Lastly, Tony Marks at Starfish & Coffee spoke up about the pressure of no-shows and tight coffee margins, which caused quite a stir. Nice one!

Looking for last-minute plans? There are still a few spaces left for Jes James x Cupcake Jemma tomorrow night (28 November), with an optional cocktail flight…
