Hello Friends!
Try treating your pre-holiday preparations more like a seasonal hobby and less like an endurance race. It’s so easy to get stuck in a “wrapping up” loop; if we could just clear the decks, then we’d be free to enjoy ourselves.
But it’s important to remember that we can never complete our to-do list, so we really shouldn’t try…instead, let’s drop the dross and make sure what makes the cut is meaningful, memorable and proper good fun. |
Sea swimming is a cherished tradition and a wellness trend, but the council currently warns against it. Luckily, enthusiasts have other options:
|
This all depends on your approach: Minimalists: keep things light with global flavours that keep your palate fresh. Maximalists: lean into the classics and try:
Plus, there’s still time to book a last-minute Christmas party, Christmas lunch, Boxing Day and, of course, New Year’s Eve.

Hot off the press, Steffan’s write up of Terra Restaurant’s brand-new seven-course tasting menu from creative development chef Jordan Sarvaar, “The experience felt like a crie de coeur for Terra, so firmly rooted to the landscape as their name implies, and for every grower, farmer and wine-maker working with them.” Wonderful stuff! |

This week, The North Star’s celebrity-studded official launch was graced by Nigella Lawson and our Torsten. Music journalist and RB writer Amit (Brighton Bars and Bites) was spotted with The Last Dinner Party (spurious food connection, awesome name-drop). Jude’s going to see Radiohead this weekend (nothing to do with food, but she’s very excited). Nick built a new chicken coop, Emma made delicious-looking, wholesome broth, and I watched my little one sing carols at The Pavilion. That just about sums it up for this week.
Next week: Festive Drink Recommendations from RB friends, Our Hamper Winner Revealed and lots more…
Yours, one down, 50,000 to go,
Hannah & Team RB
