Hello Brighton,
It’s midsummer, and we’ll all find it hard to ignore this weekend. It’s going to be scorchio! So if you’re not heading to Stonehenge to celebrate the solstice, we’d like to suggest two alternative approaches: rave or retreat… |
 | Bakes and Beats – Letting loose at midsummer is nothing new, but a sober Friday morning rave at The Flour Pot, Sydney Street, now that’s a first for Brighton. Friday, 20 June.
Lean In – New RB writer Mari got close to the flames at the chef’s counter at Kindling, enjoying top-quality steak, sticky toffee pudding, and full-bodied wine. Read about her visit here.
Summer in a Glass – The first Spritz Session, in collaboration with Regal Rogue vermouth and Capsule Records, is at Cin Cin, this Saturday, 21 June. While The Salt Room’s first Sunset Session of the season, in collaboration with Takamaka Rum, is this Sunday, 22 June.
Pool Party – DECO at Saltdean Lido will host an awesome pool party featuring a BBQ, bar, evening swim session, and music from English Disco Lovers on Saturday, 21 June. Unmissable.
Classic Cruise – More than 100 American classics and muscle cars will be cruising to Roedean Café for the Summer Brighton Run. Sunday, 22 June. It’s not a race, folks!

Visit a Vineyard – To celebrate English Wine Week (21–29 June) we’ve put together this Guide to English Wine Week 2025 so you don’t miss a drop!
Stay in the Shade – Don’t want to leave your garden? Strategic ordering is the name of the game! Use our BRAVO Best Takeaway checklist to make a smarter choice.
Welcome Wellness – Now’s the time to treat yourself properly. Try a yoga or Pilates and wine day at The Secret Vineyard, puppy yoga at Rockwater, or The Pourhouse’s Soulful Sanctuary.
Time for a Dip – Plunge yourself into the refreshing waters of the English Channel or grab a booking at Sea Lanes, Saltdean Lido, or Pells Pool. Cooled and refreshed, dine alfresco on the seafront, sip a cocktail on a roof terrace, or find shade in a lovely pub garden. |

TBH, there was a bit of argy-bargy in Team RB about who would get to try the new Cin Cin X Cases pop-up BARBINO. Torsten won – and he’s got lots to say about it. He had me at ’nduja crisps and Negroni. You?
It’s Take Your Dog to Work Day this Friday, 20 June. We’re thinking a long walk on the South Downs and lunch in a smashing Sussex pub sounds like more fun for our four-legged crew – but maybe that’s just us.
Jude, Emma and I are off for team lunch at super classy Hurstpierpoint restaurant, The Fig Tree. Can’t wait. For the rest of the weekend, we’ll be living on gelato. There are whispers of a new parlour (no, not the sushi-flavoured one). Where’s your favourite scoop? Do tell…
Yours, a bit bothered,
Hannah and Team RB
