Every week, when I sit down to write the newsletter, I challenge myself not to start with a weather report and most of the time I succeed. Today, I’m giving in. The predictable mid-May cold snap is losing its grip and next week it will be hotter than the south of France. It’s time to dust off your sunhat and head to the beach. |
Where to go for that holiday feel? Start with Cecconi’s for straight-up riviera glamour and one of the very best views around. Or take a swim at Sea Lanes followed by a grill at Wood X Coal. Book a half-term treat at Rockwater (kids eat free). Or grab one of the famous crab sandwiches at CrabShack. Delve into a seafood platter at English’s or drink rosé under a frilly umbrella at Pearly Cow. |
Sora is Brighton’s newest Japanese restaurant at Malmaison in the Marina. I don’t know about you, but a bit of yacht ‘shopping’, while I dine, definitely does it for me. The sushi at Sora is fabulous and if you’re lucky they may be BBQing on the terrace. |
If BBQ rings your Bank Holiday bell, head to Tapestry where there will be a Start of Summer party from 6pm on Sunday 25 May with slow-smoked BBQ cuts and tacos from MASA plus summer sounds from their resident DJ. |
