Native oyster season may be over, but this briny delicacy can be enjoyed year-round. We ate some very fine oysters at The Terrace by Pearly Cow last week. Join them daily from 5pm to 6pm for the "Oh Shucks!" Happy Hour. Try the historic bar at English’s or Boysterous Burgers for more shucking fun. |
The limited British BBQ season is also upon us – though our Jude fires hers up year-round (those Scots!). Want someone else on the grill? Head to Eight Bells Jevington for the late May Bank Holiday; weather permitting, they’ll be BBQing all three days. |

Malmaison also hosts summer BBQs on the terrace with views over Brighton Marina. I recently treated my family to their seriously indulgent Reimagined Afternoon Tea, complete with “Fab Lolly”, Carrot Opera Cake, Southern Fried Chicken Bites, and so much more. |
Last weekend was big! Brighton Fringe and Festival launched in a colourful flurry. We refuelled with Sun Buns and Cardamom Rolls from Fika Bakery, followed by iced lattes at BRAVO 2024’s Best Coffee, Komodo, and finished the day with a sour cherry gelato from Boho Gelato. Lots of walking…no judgement!
